Dreamweaver. Anyone good at it?

Ok, trying to make up a wesbite.
HAve made my layout in photoshop.
Now im coming to slice it all up, my question is..

For my navigation bar, I have a tree with wooden signs nailed to it, now these arent flat, they are at angles to look natural.

Whats the best way of making these into rollover buttons?

I have created the seperate layers in photoshop, so the text highlights etc on rollover, but I dont know how to make this into a button?

Any help would be really appreciated. Got to have this in tomorrow! :shake:
 
I think you'll need fireworks for that. ...not sure.

With fireworks you can make any shape into an anchor for a link, with visual rollovers if needed etc.


Nope sorry, Ive miss read you... try looking for the polygon slice and hot spot tool in APS ..that would be the same name as the dreamweaver tool was in the old fireworks.

Ah, the polygon slice tool sounds like it could be helpful, will go have a look for that!

Would this allow me to have the button tilted an an angle aswell? Rather than just having a rollover area of a straight rectangle?

I think hes trying to place an exact sized/shaped hyperlink frame around tricky shapes. ...having a simple rectangular image rollover won't give him the mouse response accuracy that he’s after.

He’ll need to use heavy mathematical coordinates to get the links shape matched perfectly… and the easy by far way is to use the automated tools.

Stuff like...

yes look for that. ....make a shape, assign all you need to it , rollover images and all if you want,

I don't think so no, its not quite what your after ...have a look at my Snappingbishop website link in my sig, the welcome page has the type of individual link shapes your after I think...all built with the polygon hot spot tool.
 
Yes it is possible to have angular shaped buttons next to each other,

But, you will need some html and css knowledge. You need to use transparent png's and the use of negative margins to achieve the effect, and no javascript.

I can build the menu for you if you want in html and css if your not too hot on html and css.

Ah yeah, just checked out your site.
That relates to what im after I think! Will find that tool and have a play!

Hey man,
Thanks for the offer, really appreciate it.
Should I just send you the .psd? Dont judge it to much, looks fairly terrible, been a bit of a rush job! Spending too much time with the camera instead of the laptop!

How much time do you want to be editing a website and not taking photographs to put on it?

That's what I would ask myself before delving into something that might be a little too complicated. I decided to keep my site simple after debating whether or not I should try and do a spangdangly complicated one. I was spending days in front of Dreamweaver when I could have been outside taking photographs. I figured that if it took this long to set up it would take too long to update and modify.

This is not for my photo website.
Its just a one off for a project that wont be touched again after it is finished. Hence why im trying something a bit fidgity!

Cheers for the advice though, I will take that onboard when I come to make a website for myself!

Got Photoshop CS3 and Dreamweaver CS4 (PS CS4 and Flash CS4 dont seem to like my mac?!)
