Dry ice effect / smoke pellets?

Not sure where to put this thread tbh, here seems a good start.

Im after a dry ice effect without the hassle / expense of a dry ice machine. Ive heard you can get smoke pellets? A bit of googling shows their existence but not their effect. Im after a smoke that will stay down by your feet rather than filling the whole studio up with fog. Although that would be a cool effect for something im thinking of too :) but for now im after a low level smoke effect.

Anyone have any ideas?

I wouldn't want to use smoke pellets in a studio, they give off a strong smelling smoke which makes breathing difficult.

Have you looked at the liquid for DJ/nightclub smoke machines? Not sure if this will fill the air with tiny particles like real smoke, but might be worth looking into.
