Dunham Massey?

What did we miss? :D

Not much, It was a really nice day though, so many people had DSLR`s out with them though, I thought I would shout out to everyone on here and see if there was anyone that may have been there today lol..

If i had a 55-200mm lens then it would of been perfect, but I only have the 18-55mm :( lol so everytime I wanted to get a picture of a deer It heard the snap of the branch and "legged it" lol

You can get a lot closer near closing time when most people have left and they come around the buildings. 18-55 might be pushing it for many, but some aren't too bothered and if you're lucky you should be able to get some group shots.

Yeah, I took near to 400, so im going to have a look at them later, I might see if I can stay later next time, but I was out with the family so we wanted to get moving haha, and with the weather being so unpredictable I thought it was going to rain!

I`ll get some uploaded later, Keep an eye out :)

i wasnt there but its one of my favourite spots
we do the garden and the house every so often....NT members do the lot free..nudge nudge
they do fantastic dinners there but are a rip off for ice creams

upload soon

My friend is one of the wardens there, it's not a bad job.

Deer are controlled in all deer parks otherwise numbers would become too great. My mate looks after the trees though.

exactly but not a bad function for captive animals
i was there on the open day and talked to one of the rangers who do the culling
its all controlled and i found his explanation interesting
and you can get venison in the restaurant..
its a well kept park and as i said one of my favourites for walking
the tree guys...not to make a pun...really have their work cut out and have improved the park since the big storm event no end
congrats to your mate
cheers

I'll be staying with on the estate with him at the end of June, really looking forward to it.

No, there's 8 of us that are either current or ex NT wardens and we're all heading to Northern Ireland for a camping weekend, just meeting at Dunham.

having a practice campfire meeting...??

cheers

Wasn't there on the dates mentioned, but was there on Monday and Weds this week - just went for a walk with the wife and bairn and then tea in the Axe & Cleaver!!!

(Dunham Massey is about 5mins away from my house!!!).

As for the ice creams ... very pricey, but they taste lush!!!

Hope the OP doesn't mind me hijacking this thread, I have attached a few photos of the deer I took last year . Happy to remove them if OP not happy!

Dunham is one of my favourite places, be it the gardens or a walk in the park to see the deer.

Had a chat with a realy nice chap there last year about the Hall and it's surroundings.

Nice park run by a good bunch of people.

Not sure if they still don't allow photography in the hall but thats no problem.

A couple from last year

Another vote for Dunham Massey - a regular haunt of mine. Tatton Park is good too, but more difficult to obtain shots of deer with it being a larger park and more open than Dunham.

Nice set of pictures by the way.

I guess there are still some restrictions, but the NT now allow non-flash photography in their properties. (...and don't forget your AF assist)

One or two other properties seem to have had a change of heart at the same time, though with the number of people that either forget to, or can't disable their flash I'm not sure how long this will last.

There amazing shots! Dunham massey is amazing, Iv been going there for years. Always changing, Just hope when I get my new lens I get some better shots ^_^

went again today..just for a walkabout with family

saw some camera carriers there...around 2-4pm
