duplicate file finder

not sure where to post this so here goes can anyone recommend a duplicate file finder to rid my comp of well !!! duplicated files mainly photos thanks

Lol, I actually stumbled across one last night for Macs. I'll take a look later and report back on its name. I was so pleased with it I then forked out the £0.79 for the pro version. I cleared at least 40 gigs out last night.

I had need for one this week and dupeGuru has done the job nicely - free and I believe its on mac and windows

Also, just to add that as well as doing a file name scan it can analyse images and music files for similarity even if they have different file names

This is what I used to remove duplicate MP3 and it worked well.

I've used Visipics from a long time.

It's nice because not only will it find duplicate photos, it will also find very similar photos, so you can check for multiple exposures of essentially the same thing, or versions of the same image at different resolutions etc.

It's free & looks a bit ancient but works well on Windows 10.
