dust speck on mirror

hi

whilst changing lenses on my d60 today , i noticed a speck of dust on what looks like a mirror

is it ok to just pick it off with a cotton bud ?

I did this on my 40D the other day, just touched the dust with the end of a bud and it lifted it off.

Best not to. (Someone will now proceed to shoot me down in flames).

Best bet is to get a blower and not touch the surface.
