DVD Storage

Hi All. I have just done a wedding shooting in raw format. I would like to backup to a dvd but don't know what type to use. ie: R+ or R- .Can anybody advise please.:shrug::shrug:

I depends upon the spec of the dvd burner in your computer. Sorry if that doesn't help.

You'll have to resort the the manual :bang: or go to the device manager thingy and learn the drive model and research that.

As far as I am aware all drives now support +R and -R formats. The -R is I believe the "original" DVD format The +R is an alternative that was pioneered by Sony.

I seem to remember that the +R claimed to have better error trapping , but that may not be 100% true ( Failing memory!!)

some older writers dont like + disks, been there done that had the write errors lol

If you only use one sort make sure its -R there are very few players/burners that wont read them still being used. hth

Thanks all. Have found out both dvd writers are -r so have ordered a pack
