I'm taking some commercially bulk loaded 35mm Ektachrome with me on holiday to Norway.

When I last shot some of this two years ago and posted some of the results on here someone mentioned they would benefit from an E6 "warming" filter.

Could someone tell what the letter/designation (ie Y2) for this filter is please so I can buy before I go away. Thanks

An 81A will reduce the colour temp' by 200 Kelvin. With Ektachrome which is traditionally on the "cool" or blue side this might be desirable (E100 is better than ealier verstions however). We used to call the 81A the instant suntan or hungover groom filter back in the day as they can add a healthy looking tan to pale and interesting complexions.

You lose about a third of stop on the exposure as it is quite a subtle filter.

I never used a filter on any Ektachrome I had, in any era. If it hinted towards blue, that was part of its character, and why would anyone want to anaesthetise (or euthanise) that?

Also, if the results are to be scanned / digitised, it becomes irrelevant, since any disatisfaction can be tweaked in software, repeatedly according to mood.

Have a good trip!
