Love #1, the colours of the subject, fence etc are effective and the DOF completes the picture (y)

From a composition point-of-view, perhaps if there was a bit more detail at the top and bottom of the pic the 3 main focal points (bird, branch, fence post) would be more 'together'?

The cleaner lines in the 2nd one appeal to me more

Can't decide between the two but i think the first might just have it. cracking shots well done. Can't comment on the technical side as i don't know enough but from a purely eye pleasing point of view, Nice one!

number 2 for me lovely contrasting colours, nice, well done

Two very good shots John, I am liking #1 myself. Could actually see that image on a fancy box or tin of biscuits that cost about £40 from one of those country shops :LOL: (y)

:agree: No1 is a stunner when you give it more than a couple of seconds look. The way the head is up into the light makes it a great capture of a moment. (y)

Both are very pleasing to look at, but again, I'm drawn to the 2nd image.

A very nice set John, each has its different attractions, I like both. Good detail and composition, perhaps a tad more head room in the second one (y)
