Sometimes it can be worth expanding your question to include why you're interested. Otherwise you'll [probably] just end up with a list of programs that you could easily get from Google.
As above depends what you want to do. For cloning etc I use affinity photo, for raw conversions I was using LR 5.7 but have recently moved over to capture one.
Most of the times I do portraits and use Photodiva to do all the editing, but your choice will depend on the type of photography you are into. I suggest you looking through the lists of popular photo editing programs (something like this or this) and find a software that would be right for you, without looking at others' choices.
I've tried other including Canon DPP and Photoshop Elements, Rawshooter Essentials and CS2 and Raw therapee. The biggest step up were for me going from Canon DPP to Rawshooter essentials and moving from that to CS2/5.
