i bought a lens with no issues quite big in australia by the looks of them
 
My choice would be leave them well alone, aprt fom the fact Canon wouldn't give you he warranty they are using a .co.uk URL for a Hongkong website.

hdewcameras have 3 year warranty. I bought my 7D from there and had no problems, as far as Im aware 12 months is with Canon then the other two are with there warranty people whose card is in the box but I think I read on here about people getting a quote from a local repair company then HDEW agrreeing to the work being carried out.
