Just thought I would throw out this question to you all....

Which area AF do you tend to set you camera on most for day to day use?

There is a mountain of choices!

By default, all my cameras are set on AF
— single focus point
— single shot
— BBAF
This may be changed according to shooting activities and conditions.
My sons know that I may be roaring if I ever take a camera that is not
set back to my default after use!
 
single point for everyday use and expanded by one all round for BIF
 
Nine for when wedding work and almost exclusively switched between the top row throughout the day. For portraits I tend to switch to the 21 AF point option, which I had saved as a handy menu option in the favourites.
 
Cross-type only. Single point, set to the 'extra accurate' one with the little square inside the bigger square.

Left everything in the AF settings on default I think. Played with the tracking release speed or whatever, but didn't see any reason to take it off what it came set as out the box.

The best bit to turn on in my opinion, is to use the joystick for AF points, and have the joystick click set to alternate between the centre point and the last used. I use top-left (or top-right) and the centre point, almost exclusively. So with that set, I barely have to do anything with the AF all day. (y)

single focus point, focus and recompose if required.
Occasionally I'll expand the focus points to the ones around the single point if required. Or if I'm shooting street, manual focus, preset distance
 
I also have the "orientation linked AF point" set to separate for horizontal and vertical shooting and I register a higher AF point in both horizontal and vertical format and set the DOF button to switch from the centre point to the higher point when I need it.
