I have just had my photography Eureka moment.
It started with my pics of HMS Ark Royal leaving the river Tyne for the last time.
My WB was set to auto & obviously not cutting the mustard :thumbsdown:
Luckily my grandson decided to get me up at 5am yesterday so I decided to do some reseach. A quick look on YouTube & all became clear.
I've just taken some test shots in the snow & am now familier with the cutom white balance feature on my 50D
Thanks to Kevshore for pointing me in the right direction with regard to WB.
