Hi, can someone explain to me why some posted photos don,t show the exif data. Is this by choice of the person posting. As a noob I find exif data a benefit to how the shot was achieved.

Well I must admit that was my first thoughtIt depends on how it was saved, some processess strip out the EXIF.
I'm convinced people do it so I can't copy their shots

How will this stop you copying it? it make it easier as there will be no Copyright in the EXIF as its goneIt depends on how it was saved, some processess strip out the EXIF.

If you save for web it wil get striped also some website remove it and if you post say to Flickr and link to a smaller copy I think it will also be striped so post to Flickr and have it at 800pix will show the EXIF as long as you saved it

I think the OP was referring to reproducing the shot using the EXIF as a guide, not the act of copying in the copying & pasting style. IMO
Thanks for the replies guys. It was asked in geniune ignorance of why it sometimes doesn,t show. Not interested in copying anyones work just looking for all the knowledge I can on how shots are achieved
