First of all. Sorry for wasting your time!

Just i'm actually get oh so very f****d off with not having any money, to fund my hobby and career. (Due to family reasons)

I have a job. Which is photography! I work at a night club. But due to certain reasons money get filtered off.

Because of this im actually borrowing my brothers Nikon D60. And it's really annoying as he needs to use if for his college shiz but i need it to work!

And my parents won't help. I've begged and pleaded! but nooo

So I was going to put this is in my sig. So it wouldn't bug you all.

But it wouldn't let me so I made a thread about it.

So if anyone does fancy giving a helping hand. :D

If you want to check my flickr to see if i'm worth investing in. www.flickr.com/jake-lewis

I only done this as a last resort!

Get another job, just looked at your flickr and seen your house, go and ask your parents again they seem pretty loaded!!!!

And also, your career?
Do you go to school? College?

I go to college 5 days a week and work 16 hours at the weekend to fund my hobby, and I do photography on the side for a bit of extra money, perhaps you should do the same?

That's your house?!

Yeah, you should feel bad mate. Not really on tbh.
Donating for what? So that you can get some camera equipment?
Or I could donate to cancer research, you know, something worthy.

:plusone:

I'm behind ya on this one foody.

That house has been given to my dad as he actually dosn't own one. The guy he works for said he has to look after it and do it up because it's a bomb site on the inside

He's got so many CCJ things or somthing he can't get a mortgage. or somthing. i dont understand. but he cant borrow any money because he owes to much

Buy a used film SLR from Ebay - £30. If you're good that'll do - it's all you need

Ditto!

plus you get the nice feeling of "I earned that".......

along with the tiredness and masses of blood, sweat and tears produced!

Sorry. But it's all this money buisness is just getting on top of me and i've been waiting for so long to get my own shiz. my family have owed me more then enough to buy myself a nice 50D lens kit. and it's just not happening and i'm just fed up ^_^

Sorry guys. Just delete the post. I wasn't thinking straight and yeah. It's a stupid thing to do. Was a spur of the moment thing.

Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Sorry!

I go to college 8-5 sleep until 7 go to work at 8 until 3 in the morning.

I do that everyday except weekends where i rest.

Last year, in order to get our annual bonus as high as poss (it's done on a performance scale).
I worked my ARSE off.
It paid off, because last month we had a good bonus, and I was 'allowed' to buy my (used) Sigma 10-20mm.

I worked for it. Nobody donated SOD ALL towards it.

Try it mate, it's very rewarding.......

yep remember its not the camera, as in its not the pans that makes a good curry. :)

although you couldn't make the curry without them!

unless you have a boiling-hot floor.

-but then you would need to explain why your feet don't get burned:lol:

so I would admit to the fact that pans do help! but weather its a £30 or £300 set of pans, it doesn't matter -the curry is the same!

sorry, thats the oddest and most confusing metaphor I have ever created!

basically, get a cheap camera! if your good at shots, then no worries, upgrade when you have the cash later on!

well I (and not just me, many people!) do that daily! weekends included!

I haven't gone to bed eairlyer than 4am for over 2 months now!:'(

ELBOW GREASE!

squeeze out enough, and you eventually can get the kit you want!

sorry, I will stop it with the metaphors:bonk::D

I got an old 350d that you could buy....

Hope this thread gets deleted.

Go and get a better job.

Personally I will only donate to a charitable organisation

Sorry if this sounds harsh, but a bloke who wants a better camera is not, and will never be a charitable organisation

Sorry to hear that mate I genuinely am, but you've not gone about this very well as I'm sure you know.

Hopefully things pick up for you and you can get a camera. A canon 300d or Nikon D40 can be had for just over £100.

Until then, hang in there.

It's ok.

Coming to think of it. Would a mod or somthing actually delete this?

It was just one of those stupid spur of the moment things. I was just so fed up with it all.

Sorry guys.

I feel like a right pratt now.

Seriously though, get an advance. If you're working 8-3am 5 nights a week then asking for a couple of hundred isn't going to be a big deal to a company.

Aint we all mate. Welcome to 'real life'.......

Rightly so.

Get a job, work hard, don`t bleat and get on with it.

Brass don`t come easy, except to the few spoilt gits...............:)

i would take the advice of getting a 350d!

although there are (obviously) advantages of a nice shiny 50D a 350d can't do anything wrong!

I do sympathise money-wise, it can be incredibly stressful (I must owe my mum a few grand by now!), and studying + job +exams (if your me) do just make it a few tonnes of horse-manure worse!

do remember that this is photography we are talking about, and you will probably NEVER! find a tog who has had it "easy" for their entire career. its a tough, over-subscribed job and theres always someone who has some trouble with it!

don't be put off though, if its what you love, keep at it, practice, improve! you will get a good break from it eventually!
