Fed up with Wet Shaving so......

I use Harry's shaver and blades and a shop brand shaving gel. I find they give a close shave with no complexion issue that I can see but with my wire bristles and soft skin I can suffer cuts or grazing. With the electric shaver and with no pre shave lotion there's no risk of cuts but I find I have an irritation which takes a while to wear off.
 
all depends what you want out of "a shave" i bought the cheap electric to get my shave out of the bathroom and the whole ritual thing which had just become dull and stale, especially as i spend half the year in GC now , my plan is to just have my leccy plugged in just pick it up a few times a day and do a whizz over while getting about my stuff, maybe even in the garden.

I even find the same nowadays with teeth cleaning with the Oral B electric , most times i give them a good going over sat on the patio.
 
Still going strong and used every day.

By strange coincidence I was wondering just yesterday when the blades would need replacing so as you've done all the work and found some I might as well order them and have them in ready :D

I have only changed razor once more since this one.
They last for ages as long as you bash out and run water over them to keep them clean

yeah me to i get a lot of my electronics hobby supplies from them.
they ship free to GC as well

My brother-in-law used to wet shave and had to do so twice a day consuming a total of at least 30 mins a day which meant he was spending at least 8 days a year shaving compared to my 5 mins a day. He had tried electric but his bristles were tough. So I accept that we may not all have a free choice in this matter. I was fortunate that an Uncle spoke to me just before I started shaving and said the decision I make could be important and he emphasised the time saved with electric.

Half an hour for a wet shave? Blimey! I would guess he’s doing the complete ritual with a badger brush, proper shaving soap and a cut throat razor? I cant be bothered with all that nonsense .. a couple of minutes with a tin of shaving gel and a Harry’s razor does me just fine.
 
I've been using electric for many years, but I did used ro feel a lot fresher after a wet shave. Sadly, I can't physically do it anymore. One of the HCAs did it for me while I was in hospital last year, but despite the razor being brand new, it barely cut anything.

I've had a few shavers over the years, and for me, nothing works better than the Philips ones. Bought THIS one 4 years ago (it was around £60 at the time) and it's the best I've ever had. Yes, it a little more pricey, but worth it IMO.
 
I have been wet shaving for over fifty years, once every couple of days. Use Lidl gel and disposable razors (usually get a couple of months out of one).
 
I wet shaved for years and then decades ago I tried a Braun electric but it didn't do a good job so I went back to wet shaving. Since I got this new cheap Kemel I've used it once a day every day with no issues although as per Paul I think the blades are going a bit so I've ordered new ones. The battery life seems to be good and it only wants charging once a week and it charges quickly.

As I might have said above, I seem to have soft skin but hard bristles and even when being careful when wet shaving I do often get the odd nick so I'm glad to be able to stop and go electric. I'm very happy with the Kemel and if and when it dies I'll definitely go for another electric shaver.

What am I going to do with the half dozen or more bottles of gel in the cupboard? I wonder if it'll bring the car up nice?

For wet shaves I used Gillette disposable razors and gel for years until they made that awful ad and then switched to suprmarket own brand but even before that something seemed to have gone wrong with the Gillette razors as one lot was ok but the next ones I bought seemed to be a lot less sharp as did every one after that so I would have moved away even without that ad. I think they must have changed something at the factory, cheaper materials maybe.
