The Oystercatcher chicks at the Rushy Lake, WWT Slimbridge are progressing really well with care from the diligent parents.
Almost all of the downy feathers have gone giving view to the sleek plumage of adulthood and they are learning to search for their own food.

They are Daniel, particularly on the shoreline they can be seen with other waders ... inland they tend to like grass and digging for worms, grubs etc so can be seen amongst waders, ducks & geese that frequent the same areas. They are possibly the only bird that is active at night and where there are flocks resident humans often complain of their sharp shrieks as they fly over their houses, waking them up!.
