Files that work on everyones computer

[Andy]

Not sure if this goes here, in business, or in image processing.

Anyway, im trying to upload around 100 photo files for people to download all at once in a file. Im using mediafire for this but im not sure what file (eg .rar) to use. I dont want to use rar as most computers have to download something to open them like I did.

So what file names work on everyones computer without having to download anything else.

If you dont understand ill try to explain it better :bonk:

rar will need a 3rd party app for windows, zip files can be opened natively however. not sure about mac to be honest.

Zip files will open fine on a Mac

ok thanks, ill use zip if you dont need 3rd party etc, is there a free program about to use?

zip is a universal standard, rar is widely supported also. To guarantee go with zip.

[dreameruk]

i also go for rar

7-zip (Windows) is open source and will unpack both ZIP and RAR: http://www.7-zip.org
