Thanks can't wait to replicate on a 6d or 7d MK II hopefully get both within the next year or maybe just a 5d MK III we will see

5d mkIII and 6d are very similar though the 6d is a lot cheaper (same processor and some other lesser functions) - if you can afford the mkIII go for it, or get the 6d and a new lens

What competition are you putting it in for? I think that is better than some photos that have win competitions (probably because the judges seem to like art more than details).

You can achieve near it with Tubes and a macro lens like a 60mm Tamron f2 @Neil Burnell has great examples
