Can anyone recommend an app or website that I can get my shutter count on a Canon 5D MKIII?
"Shutter Count" from the app store works fine.
There was a recent discussion about the same issue with the 7D MkII - you need something that can get the data over USB from the camera itself:
On Windows you might try the free demo version of Astro Photography Tool mentioned by Joe in that thread:
Most so called experts will take the image number at face value!!! So pretty much all 5DIIIs on ebay had only done a few hundred shots. Yeah right. total BS. A couple hundred thousand sounds more like it and they can definitely take it and more. So what is the point if yours works just fine?
I have used EOSCount.com in the past for a 5DMkII.
Website says it also supports the 5DMkIII.
Yes, I used EOS Count when I sold my 5DIII. Quick and easy to use,
Theres a few, you can take a photo on your camera and upload it to various 'shutter count' sites.
They don't work for the 5D III, unfortunately. The count isn't stored in the image file.
I got a shutter count for my 5d3 when it was in Colchester Cameras for a minor repair. They wouldn't give it to me in writing though.
