Yes
Just back in from shooting outside, and got a tiny fingerprint on the lens :bang:
Whats the best thing to get this off? Preferably something that I will find in the house?

Cheers

Was gonna suggest a brillo pad but maybe better sticking with the lens cloth:lol::thumbs:

A good wash in the sea & your all done.:D

Lens cloth and/or lens tissues and cleaning-fluid, which should be in your camera bag, along with a blower-brush for the optics and a small paintbrush and an old toothbrush for the camera exterior...lol

Next trip to Jessops, what are you going to buy?

I dont even have a camera bag yet....:p

But I shall get all of that together on my next trip into town though, is it pricey?

If you don't already have one, buy a UV filter to protect your lens. It will be a lot cheaper to replace than the lens, should a scratch occur.

the three key tools in camera care are;

1) lens cloth - sorts out most average cleaning issues.
2) lenspen - perfect for removing smudges and finger marks from lenses.
3) rocket blower - can blow dust thats stuck in awkward nooks and cranny's and can also clean camera sensors, though the rocket blower has a few haters because of how big it is.

Lens cloth

£5 from jessops or £2.50 for a small one.

will be adding these to my collection asap then
Might try pop into Jessops tomorrow.

Don't forget to spray your nice clean lens with a coat of WD40 to "protect" your lens !

ive found that a hammer can easily remove any thoughts about fingerprints on lenses.

someone here set fire to their lens with lighter fuel to clean it.
