Tried out the macro side of the Canon 24-70, feature doesnt seem too bad. Might think about getting a macro lens though..

Prefer #2, you can really see the bee working for it's food. And it stands out from the background better

Composition and DOF are lovely in the 2nd one. It does look a tad over exposed in the flower though. No1 doesn't do it for me I'm afraid. If you're thinking about getting a dedicated macro don't hesitate! I absolutely love mine, you will be amazed at the sharpness and detail they can give you

Great first efforts, #2 definately being my preference too.
