First Digital Landscape

Is this considered a landscape? Anyway, having seen the superb rejected landscapes I was drawn back to my first digital effort. Way back in 2003. Still a film man at that time, and unimpressed with digital snap shots cameras, I borrowed from a (rich) friend his Fuji S1 Pro DSLR, resplendent with a huge 3.4 MP sensor.

Somewhat sniffily, I took this upstart down to the waterfall at Virginia Water Surrey to take a snap or two. Using just the jpeg file right out of the camera, this shot came out. Frankly, I was amazed at the quality and ease, and being able to see what I had just shot, oh my...
The BBC CountryFile calendar comp was up, so I sent it in, and blow me if it didn't get published. For such a small sensor, it really gave a nice image.

Yes, a nice picture…
but a stupendous natural rendition!
…maybe some highlights recovery?

I like this, maybe it would be better pulled back a bit to get more of the surroundings of the waterfall in?

Quite nice shot, as mentioned a bit of PP would be beneficial if it was shot in RAW, maybe you can try again and get a better result next time.
