More than the strict rendition based on the 0/255 ~ 255/255 DR,
I wanted to represent the heavy grey mood reflected by the snow
that just can't look bright white because of the over casted sky.
They are a little under exposed as the snow is more grey then white. I'm not sure on the composition ether, the second one has the strongest composition.
Another for No2 Daniel, I think the fact the scene is not heavily snow covered enables the camera to handle the metering better, and the bright white reflective snow does not fool the metering so much.
I see you have thought about the overall overcast conditions and reflected this well in your processing.... Nice
