I was editing a series of photographs in Photoshop last night and didn't have time to finish the editing so I just saved with the layers. There was a warning that saving the layers would increase the size of the file and I thought, can't be that bad...:gag:

Anyway, the 3 photograph file is 429MB in size....I was astounded. Never realised how much data was stored in these files...

Might have to do a search to see if any more have been saved and not finished.

Cheers.

Well, might be large but maintains your ability to edit. I've had some that get pretty big. You can selectively flatten some layers and not others when you've finished, but I always keep the layered file and save a copy as a flattened jpg if I send it anywhere. Storage is relatively cheap. Can't really see a problem. I wouldn't just flatten an image to save space.
