Flattening fiber based prints. Can I use a t shirt press?

Im having trouble flattening my fiber based prints. I bought the dryer with the canvas sheet which is available from most photographic suppliers but it still leaves the paper rippled. It becomes a very long drawn out affair using this machine and it never manages to get the print flat.

Proper dry mount presses are hard to come by and cost around 3k new. There t shirt presses available on ebay for around £180. Does anyone know if these will be suitable for flattening the image?

As you'll see from my other thread Dad's Gear, I have an Adhesive Dry Mounting Company Limited press. This is a solid/heavy duty press, which looks like early 20th C. Perhaps via this forum you could ask the experts whether that would solve your problem?
