Ive only just started with flickr, and iam getting back into using it now. As I now shoot in RAW Is there an easy way to upload RAW files to flickr? When I go to upload new photos you can't view RAW file in windows which leads me onto a new question...

Does anyone have the patch for windows to be able to display RAW files?

Thanks all :)

Why would you want to upload RAW files anyway? They are just unprocessed files that need converting to a photo file format. Or am I missing something?

Nah its me, iam being thick!

Is there a way in CS4 where you can save say 10 RAW files to .jpegs?

Once you have imported them from the RAW converter into CS4, you can use File>Process Multiple Files. That's in Elements and I assume that CS4 has the same function.

Sorry what do you mean 'imported them from the RAW converter' at the mo iam just opening adobe bridge and selecting each file, which then opens in CS4. Then I just save as .jpeg

When you open the file in CS4 does it open first in Adobe Camera RAW for RAW processing? Sorry, I use elements and the files will open in ACR first for any required adjustments before opening in Elements proper. I'm guessing that CS4 works the same way?

You can batch process via Bridge.

Tbh I dont load anything bigger than 800pxls wide to flickr.

Ah cool, how do you do this?

Windows Raw Viewer

It displays raw files in Windows propriety viewer, I use it for a quick look without having to open edit software :)

Why thankyou, do you know if it works with windows 7?

Adobe Camera RAW, I dont even know if ive got that software :o

I just browse in bridge, then double click and the image opens in CS4

Why not make life easy for yourself and just shoot in fine jpg? or if you need (and want) to monkey around with raw files, select the raw+jpg option and have the best of both worlds..... :( .....just a thought... ;)

In CS3, go to;

File-scripts-image processer.

Select the folder of Raw(or whatever) you want to convert, select the output format and where you want to save them, press ok and go put the kettle on.........

Edit.........What is windows 7?

what the hell is windows 7 ?
It's the replacement for Windows Vista, due to be released later this year. It is currently (or was) in public beta which means that anyone can download it.

If you're confident with things like formatting your hard-drive, installing Windows and downloading drivers - and if you're unhappy using Vista at the moment - it may be worth a try. Windows 7 is supposed to be quite a bit better than Vista, and it has become quite popular with Windows geeks for that reason.

Stroller.

Adobe Camera RAW is a plug in that comes with CS4. When you double click on the image in Bridge, does it then appear in a screen with sliders or does it open straight into the CS4 editing window? As I use Elements, I don't have Bridge so I'm not sure what it does but I didn't think it acted as a RAW converter.

You can also use Stepok raw converter, which is free - and can do batch processing. There's an option if doing single conversion to 'tweak' the photo in a similar way to some of the Photoshop RAW plugins.

You're joking, what's wrong with XP....

At the moment not a great deal, unless you happen to be in the anti-Microsoft camp. Problem is though, it will soon be out of support. This means MS will no longer release updates and patches for the OS making it (more) vulnerable to all those nasty little spotty oiks who spend their time out of the sun trying to make the everyday user's computer useless.
Don't try running Vista (or Windows 7) unless you have at least 1Gb RAM because performance leaves a lot to be desired, as do onboard graphics adapters.
