As above, what techniques does everyone use for AF on maniac moving children for portrait shoots lol

Bubbles normally do the trick plus bribery with a lollypop if we get enough smiles:D

I also find that a straightjacket is quite a good prop, when done in high key you cant see it that much lol..... Only joking I love shooting kids, it keeps me young, thats what I tell myself anyway.

Use a wide enough depth of focus so that if they do move a little they will still be in focus. Also toggle your focus point so that you don't have to focus recompose because that will waste time between focusing and shooting.

Toddlers once they are walking up to about 2 1/2 are the worst I find, but they are easily amused for long enough to get a few shots by getting them to sit on a cute little chair or in a basket.

I did a wedding for a client who was a junior school teacher. She mentioned that there might be some hyper kids there and we discussed strategies.

"I know", she said, "ritalin". Um, can you actually get hold of that?

"Oh yes, I'll just confiscate some in the playground".
