Hi,

Can anyone help out with an annoying issue i have?

For some reason I am unable to get my folders to view all the RAW files as a thumbnail, it will display some images but not all of them and there doesnt appear to be any logic to it that I can see.

The image below is a sample of just 1 of the folders that has this issue. You can see that the images above these are all being displayed and the images after these are being dsiplayed but the ones in the middle just wont display. There is no differance in them, all taken at the shame shoot on the same CF card and transferred in to windows at the same time and all are unedited RAW files.

It is the same when i go to open an image in CS4, the thumbnails show some pictures and others it wont.

I have the latest codecs installed from adobe and windows is fully updated, so unless there is something else i need that shouldnt be it :thinking:. I am currently running the trial version of CS4 if that makes any differance, but i did have the issue with elements 6 also (but trailing cs4 as ele6 doesnt support 50D RAWs :( )

Does anyone have any ideas of how to resolve this?

hi,
what is that screen shot from? Doesn't look like Adobe Bridge. The only thing I can think of if its the same in bridge is that you have a lot of images ,100+, in the folder, and a slow computer. It can take a long time to render the thumbnails with an older machine. Let it sit for a bit and see if they render. Once they have done it once it remembers and is quicker next time you open the folder. If thats the problem, split the folder down into smaller batches.

Hi, its a windows folder, just cut it down to size to keep it small etc.

There are not a lot in there, maybe 40 or so in this 1 and its not that teh computer is to slow. Even leaving the folder open for 10 mins doesnt make any more load up. I have a fairly fast PC so should load the tumbnails quikcly.

Thanks for trying though, anyone else have any other ideas? There must be a setting somewhere i need to tick/untick or something stuipd like that :P

whats your workflow? Is it the same in CS4? What did you use to re-name the files? Have you got the latest Windows RAW viewer?
It would be strange if its doing it in both CS and Windows.
I personally gave up with Windows RAW veiwer and only use Adobe Bridge.

Other than changing my editing software nothing else has changed. I havnt updated Windows RAW viewer so that may be it, but woudlnt explain why it is showing some and not others. Still it is windows so not much makes sense as to why it will or wont work :P
