well, they'll still be supported on desktops etc. But it should make people less likely to build in them if they want people to access their content on a mobile device

That's a fairly ridiculous statement really. JavaScript is incredibly powerful if used correctly.

So is Flash and Flex. Damn sight easier to develop, with the added bonus that it behaves the same on different platforms.
