Framing & Hanging

Ive got a few pictures going up in a cafe in St Annes and 2 are going to be suspended from hooks in the ceiling.

Im using Nylon string to hang them which should be strong enough, there not gunna be near people so if anything drops, nobodys gunna get hurt. Or should I get some chains?

I dont know if I should be putting the hooks on the frame on the back or in the top? Didnt really want to ruin the frames by putting holes in the top because they are going to be for sale.

Help, pretty urgent, there going up tomorrow.

Thanks, Matt

on the back facing inwards and hang in an A shape

fishing line works well its what we use in the shop for clothes, nylon should be ok, try breaking some first and if its easy don't use it

^Hooks in the back, quite an angle on it.

Fishing line is a good idea, should be able to get some in the morning.

What you think?

Thanks for the mega quick reply too :)

tbh you need to hang along the center of mass of the picture

what would be most stable is if you did the top then strung the bottom down to a weight to pull the picture straight

whats the shop/picture a beach rock could work well, time is tricky though

aaaaah is tricksier then

I shall ponder

Ive been pondering for a while. Not sure what to do. Like the fishing line idea though, got some new line in the garage too.

I think its gunna be hooks in the top. Possibly in the bottom as well to stop it flapping about.

aye, any chance of running wire ceiling to floor then attatching to that if its a more modern place.

Otherwise its hooks on the top and don't look too close

Nope. tbh the guy was a bit of a d*** with me when I went up to take measurements, he aint gunna want to be messing around with tiltage and wouldnt surprise me if he wasnt bothered if they werent hung straight. Hes doing me a favour really, its part of an assessment I have to display in a public forum.
May possibly sell a few, he was keen on that idea so he can take a small cut of the profits.

Ill figure it out. Thanks for your help, Ill post some photos once they are up.

Pictures now up. Used fishing line in the end. Anyone in St. Anne's / Blackpool, get down there and check them out, let me know if they are still up!
