Yes
Just a headsup for those who don't know...

You can now download free for life maps with turn by turn voice navigation for driving or walking for most of the Nokia range of smart phones. A bold move by Nokia which is bound to impact the satnav market.

Yes, its very good, just ensure that you have internet added on to your plan, otherwise some nasty shocks!

Damn I wish somebody would do the same for the iPhone. The tomtom app costs a fortune!

Is this like Blackberry Maps and Google Maps for free on my Blackberry

Actually, its not really is it, they have their faults, but I understand Google's turn by turn launch is coming.

used this for the first time today, its not quite as good or accurate as the tomtom we have (maybe some of that is down to my phone being sat in a cup holder on the centre console rather than in a cradle) but it does the job, got me to where i need to go. all in all im happy with it.

given that the phone was only £100 (nokia 5230) its impressive.

to cut down on data costs you can download the maps loader from the nokia website, and download anything you want via your computer, uk maps are about 250mbs

That's pretty much my take on it - does the job, but not quite up to dedicated unit standards. I'm sure it will only improve though, and that the future of sat nav is likely to be phone based.

Thats definately the way to do it - I use Nokia Maps for all my overseas trips, I always upload the map data before I go, then you don't get any roaming charges overseas.

Find it quite handy sometimes, although i have a specail set of maps loaded on my tom tom for work,

Also just downloaded a new device software n97,
