Free Scanning Software

Afternoon all,

I have inherited an old HP scanner, but without the bundled disks. Can anyone recommend free and easy scanning software that I could download?? Alternatively, can you scan directly into PS??

Depends how old it is, but is there no downloads on the HP website for it? The software that used to come with it might be on there as well.

I have an old HP that wont work with Vista whatever the software installed.

What model is it? Tried searching for the drivers online?

And yes, you can scan directly into PS.

It's a HP Scanjet 3400c and I'm trying to run it through Vista. I installed Vuescan last night, and that still didn't make it play ball

you probably need the actual drivers, hit the hp site for them

software won't help ps see it

hp don't have vista drivers but here are the xp drivers, try to see if they work by plugging it in so it trys to install itself then telling it to look in the folder you put the drivers in

Download the correct drivers and Photoshop will do the rest using the 'file-import' function.
