From blunt to sharp??

... your camera may be back focusing the aperture on No 4 forgives this but not on the others, in No 1 the focus point appears to be about 6 inches before the bird?

I'll keep playing, not had much time this week & these were the first efforts.

They were hand held & I'm still learning settings. Problem is, when on auto I can't change the focus point. On TV & AV etc. the point of focus I have set to centre.

I try to copy the auto settings, while using TV/AV.

I've got a long way to go before I'll be up to the standards on here, but with a little help from my friends......................

Ah, that would explain why one and two are centre focused. Put your camera in Servo focus mode. This will allow you to focus on the bird hold that focus and re frame while you have the button half pressed

Cheers mate, keep the tips coming.

A bit of a long story,
But I've was having a lot of oof/soft images lately, I helped out at a wedding recently & a lot of images were oof. So I thought it was me having a problem with camera shake.

Anyway I tried some on a tripod & the result was bloody awful, so I rang Canon (who were bloody superb.) and they asked me send it back. Not even asking if I had tried different settings/lenses ect??

Received the camera back today ,(exactly 7 days after sending it) and after a few test shots, I feel like they've sent back a 5D2 by mistake. The images are superb straight out of the camera, I've yet to run them through any software.

Anyway I'll be given the camera a thorough run through its paces tomorrow, and will let you know.
But first impressions are the image quality is much better than when it was brand new.
