Fuji HS10 Problem

Yes
I bought a HS10 for my girlfriend's lads birthday August last year, already the tripod thread has cracked. sent it in through Jessops for a warranty repair at the beginning of January, Fuji and Jessops have rejected the warranty repair. The camera is immaculate and has never been abused in any way.

Letters have just been sent to both companies UK heads and I have asked for the camera to be returned so that I can get an independant engineers report.

Searching on the internet has highlighted simmilar problems for other HS10 owners and some users of earlier Fuji cameras.

If anybody is considering anything from the Fuji range, have a very close look at the tripod thread and consider does it look fit for purpose???

I would be interested to hear from any other Fuji users that may have had similar problems.

although I did look a the HS10 on behalf of my father late last year I didn't notice any major issue with the thread. that said I wasn't paying particular attention to it other than to make sure it was there.

Having used a fuji S602 and S5600 previously many times on tripods and monopods I can confirm I never had an issue with these. Both had metal threaded inserts.

I've had no problem with a S9600, but I tend to leave a quick release plate on the bottom, so less wear on the thread.

Let us know how you get on, as I would like a HS10/HS20.
