The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Sorry if this is a rehash but looking at moving from my D750 to the XT2. I already have the X100T so thinking of grabbing the 10-24 and maybe the 50-140 somewhere down the line. I shoot everything - its a hobble. Lots of family shoots, some events, landscapes, travel and street.

What do people think about the 10-24. Any thoughts on the move, lenses would be great.

Thanks

The only native option for a super wide angle lens on the Fuji system. Gives great results (as you'd expect from any Fuji lens, especially an XF one.) A cheaper alternative to the 50-140 would be the 18-135. This would also remove the gap between 18mm and 50mm that your original choice would leave.

Adam, the 10-24mm is "Excellent" there is a very slight reduction in sharpness at the 24mm end but in no way a problem and still perfectly usable.

Thanks just had a read - the rigger is close to being pulled.

I really want to keep my glass to what I need. Like I said I have 35mm eq covered with the X100T. The 10-24 will cover super wide - which I love. The only question is how I cover the last bit - namely portraits and event stuff.

The 50-140 is superb. But don't discount the 18-55.

Sorry another question - can anyone recommend a soft release button for the XT-10 ?

I need to stop mashing the shutter button !!
I just grabbed a cheapy convex one from eBay or amazon. Unless you're going for a fancy one with gold filigree etc then there's no need to spend more than a couple of quid.

Try and rent the 50-140 before you buy.. It's a beast of a lens and fairly heavy.. 56mm could be a good lens for you.. I found it great for family/street/events. I'd also recommend the 18-135mm.. possibly the best mid zoom I've ever used.. great travel lens.. Good Luck :)

A couple from Stourhead, which is National Trust in Dorset, a really nice place

Just across the border in Wiltshire rather than in Dorset. Still a really nice place though!

Thanks Nod for the correction [emoji3]

Only a couple of miles in it and the Hoares used to own huge swathes of land around the estate stretching into Dorset and Somerset. County boundaries have probably changed over the years as well.

As said, lovely colours and compositions.

There was a time when I used to get up at the crack of dawn to photograph frosty mornings etc - such was my enthusiasm. These days however, I usually have the dog on a lead in one hand and my long suffering wife in tow - so my opportunities for real photography (cf. snapshots) are few and far between. And here is a classic case:

I would have loved to stay a while longer but it was so hot and the dog was flagging and I needed a cold beer. So just a quick snap with my XT-1 and 18-55mm zoom

I know exactly where you're coming from. But for all that, I like this shot.

Great set of images Graham, being from the USA I especially like the Johnny Rs.:)(y)

George.

Many thanks for the kind words George. I love American diners, but I always leave feeling twice the size I was on the way in :D The casino reminded me of Vegas obviously, what a place that is!
