As there doesn't seem to be a thread for the Fuji X70 I've decided to start one, If there is already one please correct me ! Anyway I went onto the Fuji store on Thursday night after a night out (never a good idea) and bought a refurbished X70. I got out today with it while walking the dog and took a few snapshots. It's a great little camera. It's small enough to fit comfortably in a pocket, so I'll probably have it with me everytime I go out.
The lack of viewfinder is hard to get used to, but the tilting screen is great.
Image quality is fantastic, especially considering the size. Build quality is not to Fuji's usual standards, It's a bit plasticky. I'm not sure about the control ring though, at the moment I have it set for digital crop and I keep moving it accidentally when adjusting the aperture ring.
All in all I think it's going to get a lot of use, I am very impressed with the output. It's a great addition to my Fuji X set up ( X Pro 2, X100T)
Some sample snap shots.

looks a very nice camera - tempted myself but couldn't manage without an EVF

I know it's the same sensor as the X-t1 and x100t but the colours seem to more vibrant. I was shooting jpeg and fine+raw. I added the velvia preset to the raw files in LR

I think it may be the lens, it's a cracker, focuses really close, I haven't really given it much of a try out, but first impressions are very positive.

Are you going to keep the X100T? I'm really not sure I need it anymore now I got the X70... I like the OVF/EVF but both cameras seem so close it kind of feels pointless.

I'm not sure, I haven't really had the chance to use the X70 in anger yet. I'm off to Barcelona at the end of the month for a few days so I'll have had a better chance to weigh up the pro's and cons. The X100T is one of my all time favourite cameras, so I probably will keep it, well maybe until the X200 makes an apperance

Has anybody tried it in low light? I have an x20 and it was disappointing during Vivid in Sydney.

Just joined the x70 club. Got the black and silver one.
Also purchased a 5 stop nd filter and adapter for it.
Was torn between this and the x100t but think the wider focal length of thre 70 will be more fun for casual landscape shots.

Do you miss the viewfinder?
To be honest, no. I treat it as a totally different camera to my other X cameras, so the lack of viewfinder isn't an issue.

I still find it hard to nail focus when taking pics of the grandkids. The X pro 2 definitely has the edge, but it's in a different league pricewise.

Face detection with right eye priority (I think) doesn't always detect faces though.

Just seen this thread I've had the camera camera a few weeks and I think its excellent. Here's a few test shots that have been cropped and processed in camera.1471848543240.jpg1471848549363.jpg1471848553731.jpg

It's so small I always have it with me, it's just I haven't been anywhere interesting since I got it !:(

Likewise jim I've added the X100 hood and filter to it which increases the size, but I just have it in a small bag. Need to find an old wrist strap as I'm frightened of dropping it!!

I bought a gordys wrist strap for mine, b@stard Post office and Customs stung me for £13.50, £5.50 vat and PO handling charge of £8, not a happy camper.

You used to be able to buy them from tripman in the UK but I see he only has a neck strap now, but they are available from Denmark eg http://www.kamerahuset.dk/product/gordy-s-handsledsrem-22-5-cm-long-sort/
And also Nederlands http://www.photospecialist.co.uk/gordy-s-camera-strap-lang-lug-mount-brown-black

Good to know for future reference, at least until we're properly out of Europe :(

I know I'm doing something wrong and I'm sure it's some quirky Fuji menu option I haven't turned on/off - but I can't get a flash to work. All flash options are non selectable. Any ideas?

I have a footprint one in the loft will have to get it. Decent quality not sure if he was a member on here as well although I may be mistaken.
There are several recommendations for him in these forums if you search for cliveatoak his eBay name.

Already changed back to mechanical shutter and single shot drive mode. May have to resort to manual..

On the X100T if the camera is in silent mode the flash won't work, I assume the X70 is the same ?

I'll grab my now and see if I can replicate your problem

At the risk of sounding thick I wonder if someone can help me, I have just bought an X70 and I'm having difficulty using the quick menu. I have changed it to my preferred options but when it comes to actually selecting one there's no button that will do this and I've tried every one including the command dial, can anyone help me please?

Do you not need to hit the Q button and then change "base" using the command dial?
