Fujifilm Instax 100 camera question

Don't laugh, but I bought some film for my missus' Instax 100 camera.
Does anyone know what the flash is supposed to be doing? It just seems to bleach out the photos, and I'd rather turn it off completely. There's a flash button, but it gives no indication of what the flash is about to do, and the flash itself seems a bit random in it's operation.
The missus threw the manual away years ago :shake:

Cheers

Cheers Jacob. I don't have any ND gel, so I'll try some silver foil with a smaller aperture cut into it. I should have thought of that before!

Dunno what the silver foil will do, you want something to diffuse and reduce the amount of light getting out. Try taping a bit of cartridge paper over the flash, if that's too much, try greaseproof paper.
