Fungus in lens, keep or return?

Yes
I recently picked up a used nikon 70-200 f2. 8 vrII for a great price at £800 Unfortunately it came with a fair bit of fungus on more than one element, and a slightly squeeky af motor. This is the first time I have come across fungus in a lens, is it a huge problem, should I be concerned, or should I get rid?
It's still a good deal, but is it too big a gamble?
What are your more experienced thoughts?
Thanks Alex

Absolutely return it. But I'd never buy a lens unless its condition including a lack of mould had been clearly stated by the buyer. Advertisers that omit to provide this detail clearly don't understand what they're selling ...

£800 isn't a good price with those faults.

Before I make a rash desicion, this is definately fungus? It doesn't show up on any actual photos.IMG_20190716_151940.jpgIMG_20190716_151901.jpg

Looks like fungus to me, spreading out in typical fashion.

Yes that's fungus - send it back - and as has been said - keep it separate from your other lenses....

Pretty unanimous then, back she goes, it's a shame because it's a nice lens... Hey ho.

I suspect the spores are everywhere anyway - it's probably some common fungus, not an exotic lens-eating species. Condensation, high humidy or damp conditions help it grow.

Collected by courier, and refunded in full, a result for me, not so much for whoever they pawn if off onto next. Although it's not made its way back online yet so maybe they are going to clean it up first.
Thanks guys!

I sent a couple of Sigma zooms off to a 2nd dealer cough cough last year, one was rejected due to fungus. After having the lens returned and after a thorough look I found one small piece a few millimetres long, easy to miss when i gave the lens a good look over but yours must have been checked over by Stevie Wonder.
