Not sure if they will charge for looking at it. I had a Bronica 75mm lens some time ago with fungus. I was told it could be easily cleaned off if it wasn't too established. They sorted mine out ok - I suspect it depends on how deep into the coating it has got.
Hi you don't say where abouts you are but I recently had an old Nikon zoom cleaned and a spec of fungus seen to at Premier electronics of Sheffield. Made a lovely job and cost £70.00
I'd have thought they would use RMSD or the like insured to the value of your lens - a quick weigh and look at Royal Mail prices should give you an idication.
