Gekko

Saw this whilst visiting the ancient ruins of Priene in Turkey. I'm no expert so am just presuming it's some type of gecko.

IMO very unlikely to be a Gecko species but possibly more likely a Starred Agama??? Though looks like an old specimen who has a regrown tail.

Well I did say I was no expert!! Thanks for the suggestions Box Brownie. I've looked at some more images of Starred Agamas/Painted Dragons and I think I was definitely off the mark and you are correct.
