Not sure if this is an equipment thread or not!
I want to have a go at astrophotography and I've not got a clue where to start! I know that I'd need a scope and a T-Mount. Other than that I'm struggling.
Few years ago I had a russian made reflector telescope, it was pretty cool by I never got round to hooking a camera onto it (this was in the days when digital was the new kid on the block). I sold that scope to fund a Fender Telecaster - which was a smart move as the telecaster is ace.
For the past six months or so I've thinking about getting another scope and I'm amazed at how much things have moved along - for the first part telescopes seem to have got a lot cheaper and things like computer control (something I could only dream of) seems commonplace.
I wonder if any of the astro togs out there could give me some pointers as to suitable telescopes and bits to get up an running. Scope is for kind of casual observation - photographing moon, planets and (if possible) brighter deep sky objects. Budget is about £500 initially.
