Gigabyte motherboard users ~ a heads up!

I spotted this on the info about a bios update.

"Addresses Download Assistant Vulnerabilities Reported by Eclypsium Research"

It seems that hundreds of models of Gigabyte boards (both current & older ones) are affected by this vulnerability.

On a side note, some comments say that other makers using the EUFI type bios might also have the problem. Though only Gigabyte have rolled out bios updates

That was one of the links I found too. But now read it fully and the blocking of URLs I had not spotted.......... IIRC that can be done in the router GUI?

My router certainly has a 'URL filter' tab under Firewall and it looks easy enough to use.

What I thought was URL filtering/blocking in the Router GUI, wasn't as I could not find it. However, in my ESET Internet Security I have blocked the listed three address URLs..................even though at this time the BIOS generated programs have been removed!
