"Going Digital" courses

I went on part one of Explore your digital camera in Feb this year and booked for part two the moment I got home which I did in April. I did these with London SE region and Trish and Andy were great, everybody seemed to enjoy the days and we all learnt stacks. There is a theory and a practical session with help and tips given during both. The courses are well written and even the total beginners became confident and understood how to get the most from their cameras.

I would have classed myself as a beginner even though I had had my 500D for a year as I had never really gone out of auto modes and just used it as a P&S. I learnt so much on the courses and have never used auto modes since and my whole thinking about photography has changed and my photos are so much better for it.

I will be doing a few more next year when I find the time. They also seem really good value compared to other workshops I have looked at.

10 out of 10 from me.

I have been on the 2 beginner courses, again with trish and Andy. Worthwhile for sure and the are very well taught.

There was one local to me on yesterday (I've liked their page on FB so I get updates) - it was the Explore your DSLR Pt 1. Interested to hear about their courses, partly to see if any I want to do, but also I get asked quite often about basics of DSLRs etc, and its good to have somewhere to refer people onto.

I went on the DSLR Part 2 yesterday at Tatton Park. It was well worth it. Nice easy pace and the instructor, Graham Nobles was more than happy to assist you, even if your questions strayed off. Plenty of outdoors assignments that made you understand how light, perspective and loads of other stuff worked.

At the end of the day, you are in the presence of a professional who's simply tips and advice can be worth its weight in gold.

I will definitely be booking others.

Our North East instructor is great too - he charges considerably less than his major competitors, is approachable and easy going and can easily cater to all levels on the course. The fact that he's a working professional photographer helps too :)
