Can anyone recommend some good books to read? I'm interested in what others recommend :)

On what topic ?

Composition or anything else relating to other pro photographers that I can draw inspiration from.. Thanks russ, I'll check it out

Michael Freemans series the Photographers Eye, the Photographers Mind, photographers vision and the Photographers Story are very good. I also like David duChemin's books Within the Frame, Photographically Speaking and the print and the process. Bruce Barnbaum's books are excellent too.

Beyond those, I'd recommend finding photographers well known in the subject you are interested in and buying or borrowing some of their monographs - you'll pick up a lot from studying their work.

The Story of Art, Ernst Gombrich
Perception and Imaging, Richard Zakia
Art and Illusion, Ernst Gombrich
The Art of Photography, Bruce Barnbaum
Examples, the making of 40 photographs, Ansel Adams
Approaching Photography, Paul Hill

And if I wanted some technical light relief
The Manual of Photography
Michael Langford's Basic/Advanced Photography
