Google Analytics - Does it actually work?

Set this up a few months ago and not really spent too much time looking at it. Logged to to have a look today, and not convinced the results are accurate!

- The number of new views per day seems low, Some days PPC says I may have 3 or 4 hits, yet GA says 1 or 2.
- Search, Direct and Referral traffic all have the same stats when I choose just one of them.
- Since 18th July, only 1 page per day has been viewed

Just seems wrong to me?

Do you have access to your server logs to compare?

If people have their privacy settings set up right (e.g. denying third party sites write access for cookies) they won't appear in your GA stats.

Oh, and you have inserted the GA code in every page on your site, haven't you?

I find it works really well ...make sure you have the code correctly pasted on all of your pages!

Not a day goes by when i don't study GA 3 or 4 times a day, it really is a useful tool.

Good point, 0 is shown for last 2 weeks or so, but I did change a couple of things... but the rest just doesnt read right to me.
