I'm after a graphics tablet - looking at the Wacom Bamboo Graphic Tablet A5, has anyone used one of these before who could let me know their experiences?

Thats the one I was recommended by a friend, but other than that I've not looked further into it yet...
 
That's the one I am using at the minute, can't fault it. It does take a little while to get used to using a tablet but once you do you'll bin your mouse the same as I have lol.

If you've anything specific you want to ask then feel free
 
all of the wacom models are pretty good - the pro range is exceptional but over priced if your not a pro - love my bamboo, couldn't live without it!
 
I haven't got the Bamboo, I've got the one above it. My daughter has the Bamboo and as I understand it the Bamboo appears to be just as good. It seems to be that the main difference is in the pen you get with it.

It's great and you will get the hang of it very quickly. Once you've been using it for an hour or so, you won't be going bag to a mouse.
 
I run an intuos3 9x12" it was originally bought for my daughter to use for her art but she didn't really get on with it. I really like it for photo touch up. The mouse that comes with it and works on the tablet is about as much use as a chocolate teapot but the normal pen is great. There is an intuos4 now but I've not actually tried it so can't really comment.
 
I used to deal with IT support for a major retailer, whose clothing design team were all given Wacom kits. They loved them and we had very few issues reported. As they used them daily, guess they must be OK.
 
I have got tha Bamboo A5, took me a little while to get used to it but I get along fine with it.
Its easy to use and although its not got the extra functions of the higher spec versions I still don't use its full potential :)
 
I have a Bamboo on loan and i think that it is fantastic.

I need to buy one now and i do not want to be without it.
 
I use a Wacom Intuos3 for some time. I'd find it difficult to use a mouse now!:)
 
I have been looking at getting one of these for a while. Looks like most people prefer to use them to a mouse. I'll have to get one and see what I think.

How good are they with Photoshop?
 
they are great with photoshop, once you've set it up to be pressure sensitive you'll find your editing times shorten as you don't need to keep changing pen size, just press harder to edit a larger area

Been using a Wacom A4 for years one word BRILLIANT once you get used to pens you won't touch a mouse again.
Shop around because some of the other makes are just as good, get one where the pen doesn't need batteries (some do, most Wacoms don't)
