Grounded! RAF suspends low-level flights

I'd be surprised if they suspended all LL flying in Wales as their LFA7 area is huge, and the majority of it is nowhere near the breeding Ospreys.
Let's hope anyway, although it is good to see such a rare and endangered species being given the protection they need.

I doubt it'll make a lot of difference apart from stopping the Hercs from flying down the Dyfi estuary...

It's good to see a decent bit of PR from the RAF but in all honesty, 500ft ASL won't affect low-level flying within the Loop! Just to give you an idea, the top of Corris exit is 544m above sea level so I can't see it affecting what we do (or the majority of RAF flights) and the USAF rarely bring their Eagles down low enough to be a problem! ;)

Mach loop has seen plenty of action today, tornado s & hawks mostly so the hasn't come into force today.

Everyone happy with the no fly under 500ft decision, they get their practice Togs get their shots, Ospreys and other high flyers happy, everyone wins, great out come

I'm still hoping to see the CV-22 Ospreys come through the Loop... Apparently, they're due to be stationed at Mildenhall later this year! ;) :D

Is the restriction above sea level or ground level though? as far as I can see it doesn't say
