Gulp, help

Just got back from a few days in Wales - (on the Mach Loop mainly)....

I took my old laptop, copied the pics each day to that, burnt them to cd(r) each evening, and - now I cant seem to import them into my home computor from the cd into Adobe (photoshop elements 4.0).

The files are in my computor but the 'properties' seem different and i'm worried about losing them or not being able to post them

They are still on the old laptop if that helps with suggestions.

Can you open te CD contents in Explorer and drag/drop somewhere local?

Properties on CD's are usually different because they're on a CD that can't be written to AFIK the final properties are inherited, so once you close the session for the disc (i.e. tell it that you don't want to add anything else, Write permissions are denied to the disc and contents......... (I think- Someone more technical than me will put you right on this one)

If you copy files from CD they take the Read only attribute with them, so it may be something as simple as that

Thanks chaps - think i'll nip out and get a small storage device and copy them from the old laptop onto the device and then to computor...

... on the files from disc it does say 'read only' as you suggest so will try this other route. Ta for the help
