I know a large number of you are hung up on the iPad and similar devices (like the Norton Ink) but I think they are too restrictive IMO. I've been keeping an eye on the Windows 7 Slates that are also coming out alongside the iPhone/Android OS devices and the Hanvon looks excellent, seems it was released last week in Asia and is heading over here shortly.

Someone has put a review up of the device and it looks stonking, there are a couple of issues yeah but I think overall it could be an excellent device for when you don't want to or can't take your laptop with you (I'm thinking when you don't want to be weighed down too much when out photographing or when you're going away for a weekend).

It looks quite nice (although a nicer back would be good) and it's quite light. Only issues I can see are fairly minor, the battery life, if pushed up to 5 hours would be ok but not brilliant (remember this is a laptop without keyboard not an iPad/phone) and the slight issues pressing some of the buttons on the OS (can they not do anything with the double tap?).
Price wise it's apparently going to be $877, or around £550 which is pretty nice.
Application? Well being able to shoot tethered in the wilderness is one big +, either viewing photos as they are shot (great for landscapes) or controlled by the canon software. Followed by basic sorting and editing using Photoshop and Lightroom before you head back home and do the finishing touches on your desktop. That's my main reason for wanting one, however you obviously have the other more media centric things, full web browsing, video watching (and HD output to your TV), games etc and plugging away you do on your PC such as word etc (although a wireless keyboard would come in handy here).
