hard drive and operating systems

currently running windows 7 and also have 2 sata hard drives

hard drive 1 , windows 7 , pics , games , music , etc etc

hard drive 2 has a few small files on it


is it possible to lets say i want to install a new game can i ask it to store on hard drive 2 so it keeps hard drive 1 free as possible

would it work or not ????

Generally, yes it will be fine - unless the game is really old and is assuming where it is placed. Those sort of games were last released some years ago though.... (most issues were sorted once XP was introduced).

When it asks you where you want to install it just change the c: in the path to the drive letter you want it on, for example say e:

Most software will then install to your second hard drive and work perfectly well.

Not played any games in years on a pc so I don't know if all games give you the option

You could probably reinstall your other games in the same manner, giving you even more room on drive 1.

im not desperate for room on hard drive 1 but i would rather install on hard drive 2 from now on
